How can I make Commentary videos on YouTube?

Do I just record gameplay and add voice talk while recording?

you use recording software that records your microphone at the same time as the video...

put them together in editing and when you do your outro, cut the video off and there.

How can I use audacity while recording?

 

start recording with either your video recording software or audacity, then start the other, and do something both in the video and while talking so you can sync up the two, or what I do is have the video recording software set to record my mic when a certain combination of keys is hit, then make a really sharp loud sound and just match that up when editing the voiceover and the gameplay.

 

I myself use audacity and fraps for my videos.

 

You can either do the voiceover while recording gameplay or you can go back after and do it while watching the video, though personally I find that the first option works a ton better.
