How do RAM speeds effect 8 core FX chips?
I've heard that AMD's memory optimization for their chips that use dual core modules is so bad that the 8 core chips can't be used to their full potential. Then that you can get a noticeable boost in performance by simply using faster RAM to come closer to unlocking the full power of the chip.
There is nothing to unlock there mate, because the Vishera cores are not fully fledged ones. Each two cores use the same functional units, meaning the FX "8-cores" are nothing more than a glorified quad core with hyperthreading. Same goes for the "6 and 4 core Vishera chips".
Here are your graphs: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/bulldozer-ddr3-overclocking,3209.html
Long story short, higher memory speed does absolutely nothing when paired with these chips.
