Build update i5 4690k msi gtx 970

Ive been building my new rig now since tuesday, been working and busy with family stuff so ive taken my time Been ocing my gpu the last 2 days and got it stable last night, been stress testing gpu all night and day 16 hours straight and its good i recon Will come back later in this post to my gpu results,im very pleased!

 

Mobo: Asus maximus vii ranger

Cpu: i5 4690K

Gpu: Msi Gtx 970

Psu:corsair rm 850

Ram: Hyper x fury, went for old kit Corsair vengeance 1600mhz 16Gb

Hdd:hyper x ssd 240gb, kinston ssd 120, WB it and a wd 1,5 t

Cpu cooler: stoc, Waiting on my H110i gt

I will take sum more picture when i get my cooler and i can call it a complete build for real

 

Regarding my gpu ive been working on it for the last 2 days now, my final stable clock:

 

Mv: +50

Powerlimit:+110%

Coreclock: +210

Mem clock:500

 

Higherst boostclock ive seen on afterburner 1576 Mhz

Memoryclock 4001Mhz 

Will be working on maybe getting a higher memory clock, but as for now im very pleased!

Did furmark for 16 hours , no crash did ALOT of 3dmark Firestrike runs and got various results:

i5+970 is awesome, yet I preffer FX+970!

Depends on your games but for safest compatibility i5 is better.

The only thing it's missing is a nice tower air cooler or water cooler, I feel like the stock heat sink from both AMD and Intel are kind of ugly.

Pick yourself up a Hyper 212 EVO to finish it off.

The only thing it's missing is a nice tower air cooler or water cooler, I feel like the stock heat sink from both AMD and Intel are kind of ugly.

Pick yourself up a Hyper 212 EVO to finish it off.

h440 is nice but airflow is non existent with stock fans unless you mod it which is what I'm going to be doing soon

ah thx for the tips. I must be honest the H440 is on the lower end of my wishlist, i really like the 780 and the 760. Im leaning more towards the 760 tho

Ya I fell in love with the blue h440 but I ended up with the red one cause a red build was like 100$ cheaper then a blue build. But the h440 was kinda an impulse choice and I could have done better TBH. Still love the case but the three main things that kinda poss me off I'd the airflow, how easy the side panel is to scratch, and this really pissed me off that when I got the case, behind the side panels the powdercoat on the frame was scratched up and same with the front it was all scratched behind the front plate. You can't see it unless you take panels off but still that shouldn't happen. Not to men sion the my side panels scrape the frame and are really tight to get on which makes the scratches worse.
