Besides looking cooler what benefits does a gaming chair have over an office chair

Is there a benefit besides aesthetics for going for this chair

How much more comfortable would the DxRacer be compared to the Flash Furniture also how much longer would it last. Is it worth double the price.

That is entirely subjective I think.

You are the best judge of what is comfortable to your body type and what aesthetics please you.

I have an office chair that costed a fair chunk from Office Depot. It is built well, and has arms that can retract so that I can have extra room. Those retractable arms a must for me because it allows me to practice guitar in the chair. I also prefer the clean look of office chairs than the flashy colors on these listed.

Hope this helps.

lol got it free, father works at barclays one of the buildings was closing so he took some equipment. the £200 pcs get sold but the £1000 chairs get left alone, how odd.

Personaly if I'm spending over $300 on a chair then I just straight go for a gaming chair

If you are concerned about your back more than your "looks" then you should invest in something a little more expensive

But how projectmayhem said its about where you feel comfortable sitting in even after a lot of hours:d

I'm not that old either lol I was getting the back issues when 25

Performance/ergonomics > Aesthetics  esp when it involves you being in constant pain day in and day out.

While the Herman Millers might not look like much something that bugs me about all these "gaming chairs" is the fact they use foam...foam gives out and breaks down over the years of use, these woven chairs dont. Not only that they breath so its not absurdly hot sitting in one.

Gaming chairs are just office chairs with marketing budgets. The important part is finding the best chair for your body, be it office chair or "gaming" chair. A chair is not a fashion accessory.

Ok so my opinion is no dont get a gaming chair as it isnt worth the premium, but thats because I am pretty sure that almost anything on the market that markets itself as a "gaming" anything is usually its way of suckering ppl into paying more for colors and shiny black plastic. Examples being gaming mice keyboards headsets(worst offender). I will admit monitors is a grey area as some are subjectivly better in some instances then standard models but they also come a a HUGE premium and mostly have tade offs in color etc).

The issue I take with the DX line of chairs is yes they are quality compaired to other car seat style chairs it really doesnt matter as they are based on knockoff recarro style seats that are built to be a comprimise of a true bucket seat while allowing for incline adjustment and folding. So you are paying more for a chair that will "grip you in the corners" in you office in front of a desk while designed to allow it to tilt forward and back something I cant see needing in an office chair. Plus it adds "features" like a cusion for your head and lower back again pointing at an inappropriate initial design that causes issues that are now being band-aided to cover them up. And it would be cheaper and better to go to a wrecking yard find a lightly totaled new german luxery car and pick up a leather car seat and attach it to a cheaper base as the quality would be light years ahead. I agree with some other posters here stating a nice chair and as much as ther Herman Miller is a fluffy cool cloud to rest on I dont think many ppl can justify the cost (although used is a great resource plus no cushions to be full of old farts). I got a 1200$ office chair for 50$ at a used charity store ya its a light green but it comfy and I cant see it while I sit on it and it saved me the 1000$ I was saving for a Herman Miller so I bought a sweeter monitor.

and the streamers are most likely sponsors hey then need to make a living and sit pretty while they do it.

TL DR: "gaming" chairs are ugly and lower quality at a price premium and expensive "executive" chairs are comfy with awesome quality BUT expensive

So should I spend on a $300 office chair $100 office chair what? As many reviews do state this as being comfortable and long lasting

I own a dxracer myself, gotta say I went for less flashy colors and it's very comfortable. My first chair was faulty and they replaced it quickly. The frames have a limetime warranty on them so that's also a bonus. I work at home and use the chair for more than 10 hours a day, very comfortable.

Honestly when I was shopping that is kind of a meh price point to look for a chair, due to options (lower quality materials to make the margins possible for profits). I would never tell anyone that they need to spend more then they are comftorable spending on a chair but you need to ask yourself how long are you spending in the chair daily and realize a chair is like shoes and matresses as they can have huge impacts on your body depending on your body dynamics and on time using them and quality will last much longer.

If you are spending 2 hours a day in the chair you can make do with a folding chair (I did 1 month on a bar stool) but any longer I would start to look at around 150 for a fake/bonded leather costco one knowing that it will last 5-6 years as long as you dont have a pet that ruins it or arent too heavy for the pneumatics to last. Or what I did and if you can do yourself look on used websites second hand stores and keep an eye out for a quality office chair that was taken care of.

So as I see it 100-300$ new gets you an ok chair that will last 5-6 years if you buy new, OR 100-300$ used gets you a great used chair But requires leg work and you need to be flexible on color and design. BUT if you love the DX dont feel bad for getting it I have never heard anything bad about them and every option involves a comprimise you just need to ask what you want points your comftorable compromising on.

are you complaining about having a good posture. Well looking at the chair it looks like the back is plastic or metal, i doubt that feels nice on the back. Its a lot nicer when weaved

^ This.

The only benefit of a "gaming" chair is that it gives you higher fps when playing games.

If you don't really care about the slight improvement to fps when playing games, then a "gaming" chair might as well be any regular office chair that happens to have colored fabric / leather and branding.  And I don't know about you guys, but I can say that my a$$ doesn't really care about what color of seat it sits in, as long as it's comfortable.  And there are plenty of chairs out there that are mighty comfortable, that aren't colored & branded as "gaming" chairs.
