Recently, this week actually, i have noticed that any time i go to the LTT forums my CPU's frequency goes to 100% and never goes back down to idle as it was in the past. This only happens on the home page of the LTT forum. I only use Google Chrome.

Things i have done to see if it is on my end....

  1. Restart my PC....same result
  2. Completely clear Google Chrome history and log in to LTT forums....same result
  3. Use another PC, both from home and then someone else's PC at there home....same result
  4. Looked at my PC with a menacing face  and yell at him "Don't start playing the ass and you better cut this shit out if it is you"...same result

Has anyone noticed this same issue?

Have you tried completely uninstalling Chrome from your PC, restarting it and opening Opera then?

Or maybe it could be an addon causing the issue. Tried launching chrome in incognito mode?

Just did the uninstall and it did not help. What helped was switching the theme to the default theme and then i went back to the "dark" theme and the frequency went back to an idle state on the home page.

Looks like Linus has infected the community with a Bitcoin miner to fund his new Lambo.

Linus would not do this without us volunteering or our knowledge. He is one of the very few people on the internet we can trust up to 98%.

No....the 2% is 1% for stupid choices good people make because of influence and pressure and 1% just because i don't trust people 100%, as humans you must leave room for error.

I've just tested in Chrome and I can't reproduce it. If the issue persists, can you press F12 to open the developer tools, then switch to the "Profiles" tab and start running a javascript CPU profile. Reload the page as soon as possible, then let it sit there for about 10 seconds to build a decent profile of the site's performance, then press stop. On the left, there should be a selected item saying "Profile 1" (or something to that effect), with a save button next to it. Can you save the file, then upload it somewhere and send it to me in a PM, and I'll look into it.

The only thing i forgot to do was to inspect the element of the page but it is fixed now. i just selected the default white theme and then went back to the dark theme and it hasn't happened since. If it happens in the future i will make sure to PM you the screenshots of the page element.
