Not getting the Win 10 Notification

I am using Windows 8.1 Pro and i see everyone saying about the win 10 notification but i am not getting it on my system. I have check the Microsoft website and it says i am eligible to upgrade for free.

 

Why is this.

I dunno i read in a usa today article that said microsoft claim that there could be up to a 3 week wait past the 29th for those who don't reserve

Im not fussed on reserving. going to put it on my girlfriends system to test it.

Check your windows updates, maybe you've some left.

Not getting it either... havent even got the update for it yet. Is it like U.S. only or something?

3 weeks while they fix it I wouldnt be in a rush to adopt

this is far from a fool proof solution both updates needed for this win10 notification are on my system...still no notification.

Yes obviously this is if youre not getting the updates in the first place... But i think theres a small script you can run to force the notification to pop up if you have the update installed.

tryed the official one by MS and the popular one of  "all fixes" going around, still nothing.

It probably doesnt matter... i think a microsoft service rep said in one of the help threads that its just "marketing" to get people who dont know about it to install it. Youll just get it on realease anyway

im sure I will...it just alarms me that something is clearly not detecting my windows as eligible (currently) and it isn't something I want to see carry over post release and have to fix it then.

I also have a massive pet peeve and get very obsessive when things are not working as they should...so its kinda driving me up the wall.

Really in all honestly i dont mind 8.1, especially since i got it for free with my school dreamspark account, but i did dislike that i had to download a program to get a classic start screen instead of the metro. Though minus the metro "enhancements" I think its great minus the added compatibility issues but I expect that to happen at certain points down the line.

Just now seeing this just older games and programs lack of legacy support those game rely on anddd i don't exactly keep an xp machine lying around

Never really had an issue, just used compatibility mode, or there are often fixes on pcgamingwiki, or get a copy from gog for super cheap 

 

or I guess you could dual boot, or run a VM
