What? who said SLI was bad? you just have to understand its pros and cons, ie better performance at the cost of less support and more heat (etc etc etc)

SLI does make sense, but honestly in your situation, I would sell your current cards and upgrade to a single newer faster card

Dual graphics solution are hardly ever supported even if they are given driver functions.  You have to turn them off if you start seeing screen tears which is more common than not.  Unless you are deving or doing some form of content creation...you won't see much benefit from them in gaming.  You're better off with a single GPU solution.

...I dont know where you are getting your info from the vast majority of games I run get at least some fps boost in SLI with no abnormal side effects.

LOL? I have yet to play a game that lacks SLI support besides minecraft

On the initial release of a game it can be buggy, but after that there is usually no problems. I have never experienced any tearing

SLI isnt bad but it has many downsides like more heat, compatibility, diminishing rate of performance gain (price to performance ratio) and some others. I would suggest on getting a faster single card and I recommend SLI only when you have the fastest GPU on the market and still want more performance and you have money to spare.

SLI is hardly ever supported? Won't see much benefit from it?

Ya, I know that was my last SLI build.  It was a 240 SLI...because reasons.  It didn't like borderlands, so I had to turn off SLI.  xD  The SLI before that was the mALX one from Alienware back in 2006.  Also, I was posting my experience with SLI.  I didn't say it was a current SLI now did I?  I upgraded to Crossfire in 2013, and I'm still hitting similar compatibility issues in new games.  Not every game is SLI or Crossfire compatible not even new ones was my point.

Very misleading, this guy will spend his money based on what we say so giving a 5 year old opinion is in a way inconsiderate

It's from experience with SLIs and Crossfires.

That tops as some of the worst advice I've ever read on this forum.

Heres the quick summary you need on SLI

If you got the cash to burn but not enough to get a whole new card thats powerful enough to beat SLI and you wanna do it do it.

You will get FPS boost in the majority of things with no/occasionally minor visual side effects.

If you do encounter something that doesn't get along with it...which absolutely does happen its as simple as going to "manage 3d settings" in the Nvidia control panal, picking out the problem game and go to the "SLI rendering mode" pull down and select single GPU and bam, all your problems are solved.

I can also say you will get an FPS bump in all of thsoe games listed maybe not the walking dead but...you don't need 200 fps in that at all and one modern gaming card is plenty for that
