Hey

I have just got Windows 8.1 and have started to get all of my programs installed. On the metro start the tiles seem to lock to 4 small tiles in a row.
Is there any way of making small tiles go 1 wide and just down. Hopefully this image below should help describe what I am looking for.

Thanks

I can easily do 2 small tiles in a row. 1 no.

I have tried 2 wide, but then when I add more to go down it turns it to 3 and then 4 wide

You are right. Whatever don't use metro.

I will just have to cope with it, moving the tiles somewhere else

What if you make two parralel one-tile rows by dragging the second one into the next quadrant?

Although that will have vertical spaces between them...

That's the problem, I can make one tile rows, I need one tile columns

I have used that before with Windows 7, but I like the integration of how it works, it being the start menu

You don't have that level of control for icon placement in Windows 8 nor 10.

Sorry. :/

I want to say post a user feedback on Windows 10, but it is too late. Microsoft now is only doing bug fixes.

But once Windows 10 is out, and the path of Windows 10.1 starts, be sure to post it. I'll vote it up. I am all for for flexibility. Beside I don't think it would hard to implement for Microsoft. Maybe a day work or half or one,
