Tell him to wait for the release of the 980TI.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

I3 4150, Intel HD graphics, corsair CX750M, 4gb ram, Asus H81M-E, corsair 230T, Intel stock cooler WD Green 2TB Gigabyte 550TI

Why you shouldn't trust Gpu or Cpu boss Click on this I dare you!

Are you working off US prices? It says you're in Portugal, so the prices will differ quite a lot if we go off US.

What kind of games? AAA games, or just more casual?

You'd want to wait for the 300 series or 980Ti in that case.

Does he need a sound card? They offer pretty much no benefit over onboard audio. If he needs good audio, an external AMP and DAC would be better.

I will be assembling a list soon, but why the soundcard? At this price range, a motherboard will have equal audio to a soundcard.

The Rig: NZXT H440 M3 (Green and Black) (Ncase M1 coming soon!!) | Intel Core i5-4690k x BeQuiet PureRock Slim | EVGA GTX 1060 6GB SSC  | ASUS H81i Plus | 12GB EVGA SSC @ 1600MHz | Seagate Barracuda 2TB | Sandisk Ultra II 480GB | Corsair SF 450| LG 29" Ultrawide | CoolerMaster Quickfire Rapid TKL | Corsair M65 Black Sennheiser HD 558 (MOD) | Audio-Technica ATR 2500

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

In that case, @Dabasepc 's suggestion is pretty much bang on. You don't need a 1000W PSU though, a 750W can run it, or 850W if you want more room for upgrades. The Acer XB280HK is also worth looking at for a monitor.

EDIT: I would also suggest going for a 2TB HDD, rather than 1TB. There's so little difference in price that the 1TB doesn't really make sense.

Can you do a PCpickpart list ? it's more easier for me to print that show him that :P

Cinema 4D? Tell him to go X99 .. that software eats CPU cores for breakfast.

I think i cant go X99 with 2500 - 3000 Euros
