Help on building my first PC

Hello, I am a first time builder and I saw that this site is very active with there users. I have been watching Linus for a while and so I thought it was time to go to the forums and ask about my problem (sort of).

Anyways, so I want to build my first PC, I have picked out the parts, but I don't know if they will work together. I am on a budget (in AUD currency) and I want a gaming PC. I have made a list with prices and links to the components, here it is (oh yeah, my budget is around $370):

2x4GB RAM Sticks
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004JM1ZG8/ - $66

Motherboard
 http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Dual-Link-Crossfire-Motherboard-GA-F2A78M-D3H/dp/B00I6DLJHQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1431757664&sr=1-1&keywords=socket+fm2%2B - $64.20

AMD APU

SATA cables
http://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters%C2%AE-3-Pack-18-Inch-SATA/dp/B00KCS8ZUC/ - $6.50

ODD

Alright, that's it. Thanks in advance :)

i feel unsure about the amd APU / nVidia GT610 combo.

the GT610 might actually be less graphically capable than the APU.

i'd suggest spending AT LEAST this. spend any less and you're going to have to give up things that arent worth the money you save.

sidenote: the reason theres no GPU in the system is because the APU will probably do better than any GPU in your budget, and you can upgrade with a dedicated GPU in the future, without needing to toss out components.

you really cannot build a "gaming" PC for under $400 AUD. In this situation it would be best to skip the dedicated GPU entirely and get the best APU you can, this is what I've come up with.

CPU: AMD A10-7850K 3.7GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($179.00 @ Centre Com)
Case: Thermaltake Core V21 MicroATX Mini Tower Case  ($79.00 @ CPL Online)
Other: Optical Drive (external) ($20.00)
Total: $544.00

You can save at least 30$ on 1TB HDD, no need for 2TB.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

Like many other people are saying, that GPU is kind of useless. I would drop it and get the most powerful AMD APU that you can. The AMD A8-7600 is the same price as your CPU + GPU combo, and will most likely perform better. If you could stretch your budget out some more the A10-7850k is the best APU out there.

Do I need to remind anyone of Linus's thoughts on cheap GPUs? lol
