FX 9590 vs i7-3930k

Ok, so as we know FX 9590 is more expensive than the LGA 2011 cpu i7-3930k.

But in performance which one wins? I am talking games and Heavy rendering. (All adobe products, Cry Engines, Autodesk).

Which one performances better? Please do not include consideration of wattage each cpu needs.

Don't even ask this question. Intel gangrapes the ripoff from AMD.

3930k by far

Pretty much.

The 9590 is effectively an overclocked 8350.

3930K is significantly faster.

it depends on the task, certain things will benefit more from the slight performance boost between sandybridge and ivybridge architectures than they would from the additional cores and threads.

currently in games, the 4770k, but for video rendering and all that, the 3930k

9590 is for high end gamers, but even then i would just go with 8350... we will se how it perform in games with 6/8 core supp

It is not for gamers it is for people who want bragging rights

It's faster for what he's doing.

for some reason I looked at that last time and it wasn't there in my world xD.

I guess the light from the second paragraph hadn't reached me yet lol.

What price range would you say be for "4930k" and release date? Because that would be better than current 2011s cpu

Ivy-E 2011 CPU should be released by the end of the year. Pricing should be similar to the current 2011 CPUs+$20-$50.

Not in gaming it doesn't.

It's right up there with the 3960x.

Is it worth the money? no, is it f*ck, but don't go around making false claims.

It's not worth waiting for Ivy Bridge E at all, the performance is almost unchanged and the overclocking potential will likely go down, the same way it did from sandy to ivy on 1155.

Gaming is not a good way of checking a CPUs power. In that test both CPUs were probably not being stressed at all, the GPU was bottlenecking both. That is why the FPS was so similar.

Something like Cinebench gives a much better scale of CPU performance: http://www.kitguru.net/components/cpu/zardon/amd-fx9590-5ghz-review-w-gigabyte-990fxa-ud5/13/

Wow, not much performance gain at all, but wayy lower power consumption. kind of a let down...I guess we will have to wait for Haswell-E to get some really high performance CPUs.

Those 8 core haswells sound really juicy though !

Yup! I'm looking forward to the DDR4 RAM implementation.

Cinebench isn't that great either, because it's completely synthetic so it doesn't reflect real-world scenarios.

That's not what excites me to be honest, RAM speeds don't seem to improve performance all that much if at all.

I use RAM disks quiet a bit, so that  is why I am looking forward to it!

Aha, what exactly do use it for ?

I do some multi channel data recording with a PCI oscilloscope. Very short bursts of lots of data, a couple SSDs in RAID0 would probably be enough, but I don't have any.

There is no differencein gaming with a 3970x and a i5. Now go try using premier with that overpriced crap. This is Coming from an AMD FANBOY. No one buys a 900 dollar CPU for gaming.
