Unless you want to buy a Hyper X cloud wich are the only pair of decent gaming headphones availible then this is your best bet as they are open back and have a very good sound stage.

I have these and they are comfortable and sound good, they are not amazingly loud but with my sound card i sorted that problem. I got them for £50 on Amazon's lightning deal too.

Beyerdynamic dt770/990s are about £100, give or take a tenner either way. So long as you have decent onboard audio, you should be able to power the 250 ohm units, and potentially pick up an amp at a later date. Otherwise, the K612s are good, as are the sennheiser HD518s/558s.

If you had to choose would you recommend the DT770/990s, K612's or the HD558's?

I was thinking about eventually getting an amp at a later date, but not quite sure where to look for what and what brands are good to get?

I would probably go for the DT990s, if I was getting an amp later on, although the AKGs are a tempting choice if you prefer a tighter bass. The DT770s (32/80 ohm) and HD518/558 would be my choice if you didn't want to get an amp, as they're easier to power and therefore you can use them with your phone comfortably as well.

I'm not good on amps, so you'll need someone else for that, but things like the objective 2 and schiit magni 2 are meant to be pretty good.

Also for bass headphones out of the list what would you recommend? I was researching the DT990's and alot of people have said that they are really treble heavy, and i prefer my bass to treble

Holy crap, the DT990's have come down so much since I got them.

RiP £155.

What do they know of England, who only England know?

Do you know if there are any headphones like the DT990 that are closed? Or are the 770's as close as you can get?

Also would you recommend the M50x?
