Just thought that some of you guys who doesn't follow tek syndicate, here's a brilliant hack/build done by the mysterious Mr.Wendell himself

Gotta respect him for hacking the proprietary connectors and making the display work. Portable pc (mini-itx) just got even more portable. Dunno whether there will be a lawsuit coming from Apple because of this..hopefully not.

I don't think apple has any grounds to sue because he owns the hardware which is what the retina is. He's not touching the OS which would be a license so it shouldn't be an issue.

And that is sick. Taking LAN system to another higher res level

Why would Apple sue him? The panel is manufactured by Sharp IIRC and is clearly available to the public to buy.

anything other than gaming on that thing would be such a pain in the ass unless you change the text's size

It's an iPad 4 screen working on a PC? Crazy. Those screens are proprietary, so they are difficult to re-adapt for other purposes. Clearly touch won't work, as the digitizer is gone. But, who cares!? I want to do this.

Portability at it's finest. But I would be scared of damaging the screen during transport in the car or other. Maybe is the screen had a hard cover to put on it, it would be closer to ideal for me
