First thing I would ask is water cooled or air cooled :D Though if you like both and have the cash, go for Asus GTX 980 Poseidon 4GD5 :D

I'd probably choose the one that matches to my build and is the cheapest(within the boundaries of the big, respectable manufacturers)

Gigabyte, MSI, or asus would probably give you a good range to choose from based on color. Also if you want to watercool down the road, try to stick to the reference design/ pcb designs that already have water blocks made for them

Cpu: Ryzen 2700 @ 4.0Ghz | Motherboard: Hero VI x370 | Gpu: EVGA RTX 2080 | Cooler: Custom Water loop | Ram: 16GB Trident Z 3000MHz

PSU: RM650x + Braided cables | Case:  painted Corsair c70 | Monitor: MSI 1440p 144hz VA | Drives: 500GB 850 Evo (OS)

I have a EVGA GTX 680 at the moment, but Im not really sure whether or not I abosolutely love Evga or if other brands have got a ''better'' quality ( I had some problems with fans and some Bluescreens, caused by the GPU or the driver ).

Kingpin. But crossfire 290s would be cheaper and way faster.

Z77A-G43 LGA 1155, Intel I5 3450s, Radeon R9 290 (non-X), Cooler Master V750 Gold (750W) PSU, 2x4GB Ripjaws X 1866 MHz, 1x4 Crucial 1866 MHz, Samsung 840 Evo 500GB, Thor V2 Full-tower Case, Acer 1920x1080 Monitor

I went for the EVGA S/C 980 reference design. Its like nerdporn. I couldnt help myself. Temps sit at around 80c in gta5 (maxed). Which are in an acceptable range. But when i look through that window and see those cards purring i just sing that song. 'An i just jizzed in ma pants'.

PSU: 1050w Seasonic X-series gold. Cooling: Nzxt Kraken x61.
