Is this all the time or only just startup?

Change how many program launch at startup so less programs are using your HDD.

Scan for Malware or Viruses just in case.

The paging file. Windows 8 is in particular bad at managing it automatically.

I had the exact same problem with my laptop, and thought it was ready to die - which it wasn't. This worked wonders, now my laptop is actually usable

Follow this tutorial

Edit: Didn't watch it through the whole way - I think the values are supposed to be your full amount of ram, and then twice that. My example with 8GB

Welcome to the club  :(

I've been having the same problem for over a year now, although recently it hasn't occurred so often anymore. I've checked for malware, changed Windows Fetching etc etc but to no avail...

New to Star Citizen? Look no further!

No, but I will. I haven't seen this solution before. Fingers crossed!

Was about to give up, but this seems like it is the most common solution to a common problem. Good luck m8 :)

And you definitely rebooted after you applied the setting? At first, my changes didn't go through because I said "Restart later"
