Used or new - Your preference?

Nort

Just what the title says, do you prefer to spend more money on something brand new or buy it used. Not just talking about PC parts, just anything in general.

I prefer used vehicles. I picked up a boat for $1500 last year that was advertised as "a parts boat", me and my dad tinkered with it, threw in a new starter and it runs like a charm. Now that it is running the motor is worth $1250 alone.

When it comes to food I prefer new. ;)

NEW for sure.

He is the hero this forum deserves but not the one it needs right now.So we'll hunt him because he can take it because he is not our hero he is a silent guardian

I only buy new stuff mainly because I don't trust used item's.

Also you should make this a poll.

New for pretty much anything.  I agree that used vehicles are fine for purchase.

Really depends on what the product is. I would buy used clothes, shoes, skateboards, cars, ect. I would not buy used computer hardware or underwear.

Personally I want everything new, Having someone owning an item before me bugs me.

I will always prefer new. Vehicles I can get used no problem but I still bought my car new. In terms of computer parts I always buy new but with general electronics I can go used or refurb if the warranty is good enough to suffice my concerns

on electronics I prefer new.

On cars sometimes I'd prefer used if it's better deal than getting new one, if can I prefer getting new one.

New computer parts definitely.

Videogames, cars, books, I don't mind getting used. Though books I tend to get new because I don't like the chance of reading a book then halfway through a page is missing.

New. I never really feel comfortable using used goods of any sort.
