My cousin and I argue and argue over what's a good headset. He says Beats Studio at $380 are the best. He put some on at a Best Buy and when I tried telling him he was wasting his money on some overpriced headsets he yelled "sorry can't hear you over this quality" Can you find 5 headsets at $200 or cheaper with just as good or better quality? I did and he still don't believe me lol. He says everyone has them and they are expensive so they have to be good..

that one I picked. To bad he says every headset that aren't beats will make you look stupid in public. I don't care how stupid I look knowing I didn't waste my money.

Don't blindly hate. I honestly cant hear the difference between high end headphones. If he wants to spend money because they look nice, and sound nice, why does it matter? They dont sound "bad" they are just bass heavy, frankly something a lot of people like.

I have M50s, and a lot of people dont like the flat sound of them. so be it.

basically sound is subjective. The best sounding thing might be a 50$ pair, while others can hear the diffrence with a 1000$ pair. then others love 2$ earbuds. It doesnt matter, let people spend money on what they like.

edit: IMHO spending money to look better is a legitment reason. Unless you drive a 500$ rustbucket with mitchmaxed panels, your spending more not to look stupid

I think he may be trolling you. If not, no reason to really waste your time on him. Not really your loss.

I drive what looks to be a rust bucket... 2004 dodge ram 1500...

All I can say is, don't judge a book by it's cover.

The trouble with beats is it exploits peoples love of loud and bass to make them appear better quality then they are. Meaning the real high quality sets which are designed to to be high quality are represent original get judged as worse due to this effect...

NOTE: i love heavy bass, however i'd rather have good quality bose earpieces designed for bass instead of beats...

lol bose.

Apples laptops are extremely overpriced. Beats are somewhat different though. Sound is very open ended and changes from person to person. Also, a lot of people just can't tell the difference in audio quality, myself included, and it's more of a style thing

lol no

How old is this guy? He seems to care a lot about what other people think about him, for example he likes Beats because he's afraid he'll look like a derp if he's wearing some other brand. That's obviously somebody who's opinions don't matter. Ignore him and move on. Spend your sanity points wisely!

To be fair, newest gen of beats sound decent. Tried them at a mall's stall. Too bad there's still the overpriced problem. With the same price, there are others that are clearly better.

If he's so keen on 'price' factor, just link him to sennhesier HE-90 orpheus. 2nd hand (because discontinued, only 300 ever made), at 30 grand average. Yes, that's $30.000.

Other than that, just leave him be. Can't argue with tastes. There's a dish in my country that smells like a half decomposed garbage, I wouldn't go less than 3 feet near it. Strangely, lots of people like them.

Kids aren't interested in price, they're interested in bling and coolness. Orpheus won't rank up in their list of anythings anywhere.

I find them stylish and they sound well once broken in. It really helps to have an amp and dac along with high quality music file. Quality is only as good as the source from wence it came.
