"gaming" headsets

ReportMe

Not really sure which headset to go with. So before I post the links, I don't really Have a sound card... I do have an On-board sound Realtek ALC1150. So I dont think I need to buy a dedicated sound card. What do you use? On-board or sound card. My headset I have now Is a logitech G35. I don't like them, I find them to be heavy after playing video games.. Then again sometimes I play for 8-12 hours. Here is a list of headsets I'm looking at now.

Do you use any of these headsets? If so which one and why. I use my headset for playing video games. I do record game play and use Team speak and curse voice , so Mic quality does matter so what.. As long as they can hear me/understand me. As you can tell from my links I'm trying to keep it under $100.00.. I really Don't want to buy a pair of headphones and a mic. I want a headset a good one.

I guess the only difference between the HyperX cloud and HyperX cloud II is the Mic...

Also the 7.1 USB Virtual surround

HYPERX CLOUD MICROPHONE

Frequency response: 100–12,000 Hz

HYPERX CLOUD II MICROPHONE

Frequency response: 50–18,000 Hz

I wouldn't go for "7.1 surround sound" as binaural cues is more than sufficient for gaming. I also would avoid anything that plugs in via USB since that means it has its own crappy DAC. Go for standard stereo headsets with good sound and standard analog 3.5mm jacks. I would actually recommend these:

http://www.amazon.com/Perixx-AX-1200-Gaming-Headset-Connector/dp/B00NY3QSM4/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1431237147&sr=1-4&keywords=perixx+headset

I have the AX-2000 myself, and the components are great and superb. The only problem is that it gets uncomfortable after more than an hour. Too much pressure on your temples, but the 1200 doesn't seem to have that problem (going by reviews).

I was trying to stay away from USB Headsets. My on-board Audio is Realtek ALC1150... Anyways I will check those out. What do you think about SteelSeries Siberia V2.

I had Turtle Beach x12s for several years before they eventually broke. They sounded great, were comfortable, had a great microphone, and right now they're about $40 USD on Amazon. They're probably not as high end as something more expensive you could buy, but they are the best headphones I've owned so far

hyperx cloud is pretty much the best headset available for $100, as far as I can tell. So that would be a good one to go for. 7.1 is pointless in gaming, so there's that. I use a sound card, but that's only because I actually needed a rear, convenient way to switch audio sources, as my speakers don't even have a headphone out, and I needed an RCA for the speakers, and a 1/4 inch jack for my headphones.

Most of the turtle beaches I've owned were absolute shit. But the x12s were just amazing out of nowhere. I've never owned anything better though so I probably wouldn't know. For me sound/mic quality>build quality because I'm really careful with my headphones. The build quality for the x12 was sub-par but the sound was great

Clouds 1 if you must have a headset cloud 2 don't worth it.

However if you can manage another 10$ I would recommend you go for audio technica ath ad500+ moov mic this combo will destroy everything on that list in nearley every way
