Windows 8.1 Little Known Feature

if you place your cursor so that it is halfway above and halfway below the line between the taskbar and the desktop, it will become an arrow slider. This allows you to change the size of your taskbar! If you have too many things (I don't know HOW but ok, everyone is different) then you can have a multiple-row taskbar! I thought that I would post this because no one every seems to talk about it. I just randomly found it when I went to click my wifi button.

EDIT: I apologize, I did not realize that this was known. I just intended to show people a new trick that could come in handy. I apologize if I may have annoyed anyone.

EDIT #2: I also changed the word "hotbar" to "taskbar" because I had one of those moments when you just blank and write the wrong word. Apologies.

It's been around for a while.

Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace. Our Father Birb has taught us with His humble heart and gentle wing the way of the bob. Let us show Him our reverence and follow in His example. The True Path of the Feathered One. ~ Dimboble-dubabob III

Please be friendly guys.

By "hotbar" @Raddude means taskbar.

Probably he miss translated from his native language to English.

This is a very known feature among power users of Windows, which is what compromises most on this forum.

But cool that you discovered something new to Windows. :)

While on the subject, in Windows 7 and newer version of Windows, you can hit Win+[a number], and it will start the program pined at that location of your task bar.

For example, if your first pinned program is Internet Explorer, doing Win+1, will start it up. Win+2 will start the next one, which, for example, can be File Explorer.

I knew about it but being told again certainly did not annoy me. Have you also noticed that going from one height to two allows the time/date display to also show the day (spelt out)
