Does your monitor have DVI or HDMI? if so get rid of VGA.

Yes it does have HDMI, but that still didnt answer my question :\ is there a DVI cable that is supposed to be running from the graphics card to the monitor ?

You can whatever you want to connect your graphics card to your monitor, HDMI and DVI are better than VGA - so worth upgrading if you can

Your monitor requires 2 cabels to work.. Power and signal.. The signal can be any 1 of the supported connectors, HDMI / DVI / DP or VGA if thats all it supports... It doesn't really matter which you use but VGA is the worst..

I don'T PreSS caPs.. I juST Hit THe keYboARd so HarD iT CriTs :P

not necessarily.

You only need one cable running from the Graphics card to the monitor.  They go in order of quality/performance:

vga

dvi/hdmi

dp

If you can use HDMI or DVI then use it instead of VGA,  the other plugs on your GPU are for extra monitors.

hdmi is better than vga wierd i thought hdmi gave latency or that is what i thought it has if it does not have latency maybe i should use hdmi instead of vga < stupidly bought a monitor in a hurry and forgot to look if it had dvi support long story short i didnt >.<)

If you use a VGA cable right now please for god sake, unplug it and use a DVI cable!!

keep in mind that there are different DVI cables on the market and thus you'll have to do some research on which dvi cable you need.

I was playing games recently with a vga cable and I had weird screentearing in my game, I thought it was my videocard... but it was that stupid cable.

VGA is old (analog) and DVI is new (digital).

digital signals are just better in this case.

At the moment, it has no cables running from the graphics card to the monitor...it only has DVI connections on the back of it...i think ?

There are DVI connection ports on the graphics card that arent in use..i therefore have no cables running from the GPU to the monitor, should there be cables there ?

Ah so your card has 2 DVi ports? you only need one if you have one monitor the second one is for a second monitor simple as that.

Which means you are using the output of your mainboard.

Connect the monitor to the gpu!

Its going from the ports from the motherboard in the IO shield thing, there is a VGA connection that its plugged into and working

you are not using your graphics card then and if its displaying stuff it means you have not connected your gpu properly Remeber this when you have a gpu you use the ports on gpu only not the motherboards ports the gpus ports

DVI, HDMI and VGA

If you can get a DVI cable and run that from your Graphics card to your monitor you will have a better signal.
