Those are the 2 connection ports on the back of the GPU, but i have neither of them :\

What connections are on your GPU.. and what connections are on your monitor - use anything you want but you must connect your GPU to your monitor

You should not be using the on board motherboard VGA port

you are not using your graphics card then and if its displaying stuff it means you have not connected your gpu properly Remeber this when you have a gpu you use the ports on gpu only not the motherboards ports the gpus ports

ALRIGHT :) that answered it omg yes, altright, so i need to get DVI connections to plug from the GPU into the monitor ? only THEN will i be using the GPU because at the moment it isnt in use ?

correct!

use anything as long as you use your GPU connections - preferably HDMI or DVI instead of VGA

yes, by connecting the monitor to the I/O of the board, you are using the built in graphics that come with your CPU, you want to use the GPU you got separate from your CPU, I suggest getting an HDMI cord and connecting it from the GPU to your monitor.
