Posted April 19, 2015 While watching the part about the GPU market share of Nvidia and AMD over the last few years made me think about #ramgate in a different light. What if Nvidia did it to get some people to consider buying a AMD? One my think they did it to strengthen AMDs position on the market, either out of fear regarding possible monopoly-lawsuits, or to not create a gap in the market where some more powerful "enemy" might arise. We may never know. But the timing of #ramgate may very well have given AMD the change to recover. Because whatever side you are on, we should all hope that AMD doesn't go out of business. What do you guys think? Not a chance. If they want to give boosts to amd's sales they could have just made less powerful cards or gave them ridiculous prices. That latter seems more reasonable. Higher margins on less sales sounds better than just giving up trying to make good cards.
