Prom Ideas

Prom is coming up in a month and I have limited amount of time to plan everything.
 

How can I ask this one girl to prom?

I was going to write a program and have the girl run it in class to surprise her... but I wanted to do something else other than that....

If you can find out a little about her, try to do something that she would appreciate. If she's a comuter person, a program would be cool, but, if not, and she doesnt like you....she probably won't care. 

 

I am not on the UpandUP on how proms work, cause, never had one. But....yeah.

Meh imho proms are too mainstream and rather sexist. They're portrayed solely for the wealthy/model attractive heterosexual youth/population. Creating a stigma that haunts Western Culture. 

 

I haven't gone to one (and most likely won't) though I'm a freshman.

Nah, I didn't have the courage to ask anyone to go, and all of my friends go to school in Michigan, I live in Indiana. So that wouldn't have worked either

Nah there's still that sort of a thou art to be holier than thou thing I think going on. Meh idk I feel that the likely-hood of me wanting to or actually going to prom in my Junior or Senior years will be probably unlikely. I don't plan on staying in the US much after high school or really returning to the US in general.

I've gone to prom twice and hated both (mainly because I hate dances)

That being said, it isn't about the actual dance as much as it's about the experience

I made posters spelling out prom and had my friends wait with me until she came.

Well, when senior prom came around for me i was completely clueless that the one person i really wanted to take was giving me HUGE hints that she wanted me to ask her. Like, showing me pics of her dress, her shoes, stuff like that. I didn't put 2 and 2 together until like 2 weeks before hand. lol

 

Anyway, when i finally did figure it out we were at school chilling together talking about some stuff, can't remember what anymore, but was so enthralled with that conversation i completely forgot what i was going to ask her. 6th period came around and i remembered, panicked majorly since it was Friday and most likely wouldn't be seeing her again until monday. So i found out which class she had 6th period and then ask my teacher at the time to let me go early, I said i had some important things to take care of, but she was cool and let me go. I simply walked into my dates art class while they were working on a project, I knew the teacher of the art class, having been with her for 3 years before hand, and told her my spiel. the teach was cool with it so I just walked back, grabbed my dates hand, walked her out of class, knelt down and asked her. I'm no romeo, but it worked for me. I'll never forget her words really, "Heh, what took you so long?"

 

Anyway, i guess what im trying to say is, just ask them. Be yourself, and if the person actually likes you for you, they'll say yes. It doesn't work all the times, there's going to be people who decline, there's never a sure fire way to get everyone. Just don't freak about it and do what you would do. Be yourself, that's all anyone can ask of you.

 

 

 

P.S., the date i took we mutually broke up afterwards and she married my best friend 4 months after prom. Lol... Sometimes it sucks to suck  But that's a story for a whole 'nuther time.

Definitely not only for the wealthy youth, my friend got a complete tux at a goodwill for less than 50 bucks.  

As for the model/attractive population I'll have to disagree with you, it is a way for anybody (regardless

of attractiveness)to go get dressed up and make themselves look nice and it helps raise their self esteem.

It isn't a stigma as much as people hating on dances way more than they should (coming from someone who

Totally kidding, although that is what I told my girlfriend. We are still together 5 years later so I guessed it worked. lol

 

In all honesty, Prom was a fancy school dance. All the fun happened after prom.

I hate mine too. My first and last name are very common, and my middle name is very nasty. So yeah. Hate my name 100%
