Air Conditioning pc?

My room gets really hot this time of year. Even at stock speeds my room sits around 83 F during the day while gaming it gets up to 86 F. My gpu gets up 90 C, keep in mind this is the Windforce 3 cooler, and my cpu gets to around 80 C, again a noctual Nhd-14. Should put a portable air conditioner in my room to cool my pc and room? I'd make it so that the pc got all the cool air first and possibly build a custom loop to further the results.

 

I live in Atlanta and my room is in direct sunlight for most of the day which really cooks it in here. The A/c is set to 74 for the rest of the house, my room is nowhere near that. Today was 70 F and the room got up to 86 F, imagine the days when it gets up to the 90s during the summer... I don't want to find out. My room has been hot as hell and the pc has been throttling like crazy. There really isn't any other way to cool both at the same time, I have a big ass box fan blowing air into my room and another blowing out the window and they've done almost nothing. Do you guys think I should go ahead and do it? If I do I'll make a thread showing it off. I've seen a few people on youtube doing it so I have a general idea of what I must do.

 

Also condensation wouldn't be an issue as I have an adequate amount of exhaust.

I just thought of a mod, where you remove the side panel, and hook an AC unit right up to that fucker.

I was thinking about removing 3 5.25 bays and sticking a big ass tube right in the front, but that's not a bad idea either lol

doesnt matter how much exhaust you have

thre is a reason people dont do this

trust me, many people have tried

 

if you use air conditioning to cool down your entire room and not have the cold air going into your PC, this will reduce your ambient temperature which will give you lower PC temperatures without condensation

 

if you really want cold temperatures you need to use phase change cooling, and it needs to only cool your CPU or GPU directly with insulation to prevent ANY air from touching the cold plate

Sorry I was just trying to touch base on phase changing. You don't require or "need" that case to build it.

I knew what you meant, the problem with phase change is it doesn't get rid of the heat, just cools the pc. My room is my main concern.

think of it like this:

the cold air cools the metal backplate on the GPU

the GPU is hot, and it heats up the air on the back of the PCB right below the backplate

since the backplate is cold, water condensates on the backplate

slowly but surely more and more water will accumulate until eventually a drop forms large enough that it touches the PCB and kills your GPU

 

and this is just one example, there are thousands of sensitive electrical components inside a PC

 

unless you want to risk losing hundreds of dollars I would not try

Its a perfect solution IMO. Its going to to be ice cold in there, put a few fans on the case exhausting air outwards into your room and a fan on-top drawing warm air in if possible and boom you've got a PC that doubles as an A/C unit =P.
