N00B Question (Its ok to laugh)

RazerDeath

Just a question when I looking on Pc part picker at some of the builds people did I kept seeing the 780ti and the 760 and my question is Are the GTX 780 and the 760 still good because The way i think is that the newer models are way better then the older ones when it comes to certian things. Please tell me if im wrong and what people still use them for.

They're good cards, but you should get newer models if gaming (but don't have to.) A lot of those people may have built their builds earlier and then submitted now, or got good deals though.

HAHAHAHAH

Now that I'm done laughing, those are still pretty good.

But often they are discontinued and cost just as much (or slightly less) than the GPU's that come after that.

Im not laughing! Not NOOB at all! They are still good card (780ti) but in a year or so they will start to struggle, people still use them for cuda acceleration and gaming

They're still good, but the GTX 9xx series (970 & 980) has similar price and has better performance compared to the GTX 7xx series (760 and 780Ti).

If we compare maxwell to kepler, main difference for future is that maxwell have 32 and kepler has only 1 thread, so Asynchronous Shading will work on very well on maxwell.

For example anti aliasing will not gobble up so much fps as before, now it will be reasonable to have anti aliasing on with any gpu.

gtx 970 is where its at

for a forum whose traffic is mostly comprised of people coming here for help? Everyone here is happy to help :D

The 7xx series is a pretty nice series and if you get a 780Ti for below 300$ MAYBE you're getting a good deal out of it but, the 9xx series is a much, MUCH better series of cards.
