overvolting when PSU is near limits?

Go to solution Solved by ObeseWalrus,

this isn't a bottle neck thread, i already know my CPU is a wattage beast. and i see your chart, but i'm not that worried.

you say HEAVY bottle necking, but it isnt that terrible. (also your chart is for a GTX770)

as i said earlier in this thread i'm going to be going intel once DDR4 gets cheaper. an i can afford to do so. (maybe next year, probably not.)

i'm getting fine performance, so i'm really not worried.

this thread is about PSUs. and i think i've got my solution.

if it bottlenecks two 770 what does it do to two 980 which are more powerful?

Just common sense and basic logic.

That cpu is weaker than the i5 4460 at gaming and that the xeon e3 1231v3 at productivity.

Cheaper options.

Oh well...

Oh well...

it cost me 300 bucks for the 9590 to replace my 1090T

it costs 300 bucks just for a decent i7. plus MB, plus DDR4 RAM.

as i stated above and in the previous page, less now, more later.

also, i'm hoping i'll see a change when DX12 comes that will make my current investments last a bit longer.

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.
