What is the mini displayport on the MSI GT72?

I have been looking for a new laptop to buy and I need HDMI input port. I have only found that Alienware is the only laptop that has that.

i have seen that MSI have a mini displayport, but is that for input or output?

It's for display output. You can make an HDMI port by using one of these adapters.
