Hey guys,

I'm almost done building my new computer and before buying everything I need help to choose the best ddr3 RAM. Those are the 2 that I think I should get but not sure which one to get. The Kingston HyperX Fury black ddr3 2x8gb at 1600mhz cl10 or the Corsair Vengeance pro 2x8gb ddr3 at 2133mhz cl11?

Thanks!

Even if the corsair is faster it doesn't change anything?

Pwn_intended posted a good video. As far as ram speed, anything over 1333 should work just as well within maybe one or two fps of 2933. You only need faster ram for certain production work. And occasionally a game or two like bf4, although instead of maybe a 1 fps game you might see 3-4.  Other than that any 1600 should do fine.

Actually it will changes something. You will be having roughly 1 more fps when in game. Sometimes not even 1 thou. Anyway, in gaming, the RAM speed doesn't matter at all due to the different is about 1fps or so only.

Just get the cheaper RAM plus matches your color scheme (if you have one).

I would definitely get a larger paower supply. 650w will run this build just fine, but one day you might want to pick up another 970 and get into 4k gaming. I would also get a higher resolution monitor. At least 1440p. If you're just going to ge gaming at 1080p, you coud save some money and get the gtx 960, or better yet, 2x 960s.

You can get a 1080p @ 144hz for cheap, or you can get a 1440p @ 60hz monitor for cheap. Unfortunately more resolution x more framerate = a lot more money. Really, your 970 will kill it at 1080p. as long as you enjoy it, its not a waste. The 970 and 980 are made for higher resolutions, but how may people buy $700 monitors? not me!

If you're going with a 26 inch or smaller monitor, then stick to 1080p. 27 inch or bigger, the 1440. 32 inch or bigger, then 4k. Once you decide the size/ resolution you want, then Get the highest refresh rate you can afford. Once you crank up the graphics, especially on newer games, u won't be getting 120fps. Even at 1080p. Unless you're running dual cards.

Figure out what features you want, then shop around for the best deal. Pcpartpicker, amazon and newegg are great places to start becauce u just enter in the features and they give you a list.
