A 5200rpm HDD from 2007 perfomance is the same as a 2015 HDD of 5200rpm?

theres a lot more that factors into hard drive speed than RPM but i think all hard drives have similar speeds and if you have an ssd for boot drive then the hard drive is probably just for videos and mass storage stuff so in my opinion not worth it to upgrade

Rotational speed is almost meaningless in HDDs. What you want to find out is the sustained read/write and sequential read/writes. Thats the true indicator of how 'good' a HDD is. You can have a 7200rpm drive with lower read/writes than a 5200rpm.

D Transfer rate is 300mbps

Hi there @DotoreN!

It depends on what are you planning to use the secondary drive for. If it's going to be only a storage unit, then the Green drive you have will do a very good job. But in case you want to run apps from there as well, then I would recommend a WD Blue, which is meant for everyday computing, or WD Black, which is a performance oriented HDD and will give you faster loading times and has 5 years limited warranty as well. Here are some links if you want to check them out:

Hope this helps.

Cheers! :)
