PS2 very stiff joysticks, any way to fix this?

EvilWiffles

I've softmodded my PS2 and started playing it often but my controller joysticks are so damn stiff compared to the PS3 controller joysticks.

Is there anyway to maybe loosen the joysticks up a bit? It's getting tiring having to force the joystick around...

Open the shell and stretch the bands a little.

like this guy said^

open the shell up, work the joysticks from there. they might need a good cleaning.

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

I don't need to follow my own topic since I stalk the crap out of my own threads xD.

Would the bands break if I work it too hard? It's a pretty old controller.

that's why i said clean. don't take the bands off, just wiggle the sticks.

if you have hand gunk on the bands clean it off with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip. if you're really good, use WD-40 on it, but don't get it on the PCB, or any electrical parts.

Just curious I started playing some Jak and Daxster again recently on PS2, but what exactly have you done to softmod your PS2?

I used an IDE to SATA adapter for the network adapter that came along with my FAT PS2. I just used the HDD-OSD method then I put Free MCBoot on a USB and launched that with ulauncher that was installed in the process if formatting and installing PS2 filesystem on HDD.

Then I formatted the HDD and used WinHIIP to install ISO games onto it.

Anyways, I'll see if I can do all of these things. Luckily I have WD-40 laying around :P.

Sucky :/. I just bought a 160GB IDE because I thought I could use it for my PS2. Ended up just using a 2.5 160GB sata HDD from a laptop.

I'm in the process of buying a crossover cable so I can just hook the network adapter to my PC and have easy control over my PS2 partition to install and remove games.

Anyways, I tried adding WD-40, it helped a little bit. I didn't see any bands in the joysticks though.
