Do You Use An I/O Shield?

Do you use an I/O shield? Why or why not?

 

I don't since it's all silver, doesn't match my case.

I don't use one, because when i bout my PC off a friend, it didnt have one. I wish I had one though. I will always use one in future builds

I use I/O shields cause' I don't want random things getting inside my PC (I hate insects *shudders*). Why not paint your silver I/O shield though?

No. They prevent EMI, dust, and make ports easier to distinguish. But they are not a requirement. On Linus' case test bench, he runs it without an I/O shield.

Yes, if it is removed my rear and top fans just suck in air from there and blow it out.

Plug all the holes! lol.  Largely for looks but mostly to seriously plug the holes, screw dust.

I made my own and stuck some led;s in it...

it makes the usb ports run faster :D

Mines is black (asus rog) and it matches my black 800d case but I would still use it even if it was silver.

Yes, comes with motherboard, fits in the case like a I/O shield should and helps to keep dust out the case and can even help strengthen the ports of the motherboard too.

Yes, the same reasons as everyone has pretty much said. 

 

Prevents dust and it doesn't leave a gaping hole in the back of my case.

Why have people said no lol? The IO sheild isn't really optional you're meant to have it ha. It keeps out little nasties and makes your plugs more rigid and grounds teh board. I can't imagine why in the shit anyone would opt to not have an IO sheild.

I see no reason why I wouldn't use an I/O shield. I understand some people don't like the looks, but no one will see the back of my PC often :) (mine is black BTW, it matches nicely with my case)
