"Quiet" 80mm case fans? (Burnaby, BC)

msgohan

I'm trying to find something that I can pick up in Burnaby, but none of the offerings from NCIX that I looked at are currently available at that location.

Not really sure what to look for. The last 80mm fan I bought was 3 years ago, "Silenx Effizio 80MM LED Quiet Fan 1700RPM 32CFM 15DBA Fluid Dynamic Bearings 3/4PIN" for $5.19. I don't see anything with a CFM rating that high and DBA that low, at least not anywhere near the same price. Were those specs just lying?

I'd like to spend less than $15 per.

I had one of those, and the specs seem like complete BS. The Arctic F8 PWM in my grandma's computer does far better, and its quieter.

Agreed with above, the smaller the fan the louder  it is, since it has to spin faster to push the same amount of air compared to a larger fan.

Hit up some Noctua 80mm fans. Very quiet and very well made.
