Posted March 31, 2015 I was playing Battlefield 4 because I suck at staying alive and shooting as I've only played 3.9 hours. I had Speccy open on another monitor and after about 30 minutes my CPU temperature was 93c!! I was really worried and it didn't seem to go any higher than 95. Is this normal for a stock cooler? Posted March 31, 2015 Your CPU shouldn't be at that temperature - check to make sure the cooler is installed properly. I wouldn't mind a different cooler, I just don't want to install one because I'm scared of messing up. Stock Cooler was simple and I don't think there's anyone near me that would install it for me. New coolers are not much harder to install than the stock cooler There is no point having a K processor and z97 board and not using it to its fullest by overclocking, you may as well have bought cheaper parts Seriously though installing a cooler is pretty straight forward Desktop - Corsair 300r i7 4770k H100i MSI 780ti 16GB Vengeance Pro 2400mhz Crucial MX100 512gb Samsung Evo 250gb 2 TB WD Green, AOC Q2770PQU 1440p 27" monitor Laptop Clevo W110er - 11.6" 768p, i5 3230m, 650m GT 2gb, OCZ vertex 4 256gb, 4gb ram, Server: Fractal Define Mini, MSI Z78-G43, Intel G3220, 8GB Corsair Vengeance, 4x 3tb WD Reds in Raid 10, Phone Oppo Reno 10x 256gb , Camera Sony A7iii Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/338719-cpu-temperature-made-me-worry/#findComment-4618731 Share on other sites
 Posted March 31, 2015 93c is too high. You should probably upgrade your cooler (you can find cheap and effective coolers for example the ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro). Is this normal for a stock cooler? i have the same cpu and using stock cooler my temps are high but not that high, if you have thermal compound pull the cooler of clean it and apply new thermal compound and see what the temps are. if not see if turbo boost is enable and see if the boost clock is stuck @3.9ghz and if it is disable turbo boost (had the same problem with my gpu) or just get a new cooler i recommend cooler master hyper 212 evo My speakers dont even fit on or under my desk...PA's FTW Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/338719-cpu-temperature-made-me-worry/#findComment-4618748 Share on other sites
