So I got some great responses on my black and gold case forum thread. I'm now questioning this colour scheme as it doesn't seem very common and there aren't any LED colours I think would go with it.

 

So I wanna hear from you guys! What're your favourite not-completely-black cases. White cases, blue cases, black cases with coloured accents. Let's see some sexy, vibrant cases.

NZXT H2 if you can find it

 

NZXT H440 or Define R5 are high on my list also

Mine are the corsair 760t, corsair air 540 (planning to by soon), corsair 780t, nzxt phantom 410 with window mod, and the nzxt h440.

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

Any case good quality black case + spray paint + painter's tape + a little time = a unique and good looking non-black case.

Add LED strips & fans for the full effect.

I've built 3 PC's, but none for myself... In fact, I'm using an iMac that my dad bought for me as my desktop. Awkward...

Please don't say "SSD drive." By doing so, you are literally saying "Solid State Drive Drive" and causing my brain cells to commit suicide. The same applies to HDD (Hard Disk Drive) and PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express).

A good looking non traditional colour case is difficult without it looking garish. I think my 230T in Rebel orange works but that's rare.

If you find a good case you like, paint is always an option... Just make sure to use sandpaper first!

 

why is sandpaper necessary?  I'm a noob and I really want to paint my Thermaltake Chaser Mk-1 case to white.  I know you have to first use primer and then several paint layers.

If you don't sand down what you are trying to paint, especially plastics and metals, the primer won't be able to stick as well to the surface that you are attempting to paint. If you don't want paint to run as well as if you want an even coat of paint, sanding ensures that the surface will later be uniform and stick VERY well. If you do decide to paint something white, make sure you have a VERY even coating of paint, if the paint is uneven the final look will appear patchy and be unappealing especially to people that have painted before. You are correct however when you said that several layers of paint were necessary, as most of the case probably will need to be coated in order to stop some of the other colors from bleeding through. also make sure to use blue painters tape and not the beige masking tape as paint tends to seep into the adhesive on most masking tape. and yes you do want to tape over most of your buttons and USB ports, you'll need them later.
