something like a GT series will do fine for this if its just for movies although i'm pretty sure integrated can stream 1080p fine.

Gtx 650, is cheapest.

If you are not a gamer, then get it, becouse it only needs 75w and it is totally silent.

Or just use integated graphics.

What is your budget and what sort of system is it going into? Most modern IGPs are able to stream 1080P movies that be Intel HD graphics or a AMD APU .

But for graphicscards:

For AMD I would suggest the 7750 silent: http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=1159&pid=1471&lid=1

And from Nvidia GT640: http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/GT640DCSL2GD3/

Modern integrated graphics is more than enough for 1080p bluray. Ex: The graphics on the G1610.

You don't even need a graphics card for it. Basically every motherboard has internal video connectors, just use that. Netflix player is CPU intensive not GPU.

NETFLIX PERFORMANCE PROBLEMS

EVEN IGPU's ARE MAXING OUT

I stumbled upon a setting on the actual netflix website under Account Settings called "Manage video quality" and changed the selection from "Best quality" to "Better quality".

Ever since then i have not had a single lag in my video streaming. For those of you who are coming on here to rant about not being able to watch netflix, try this solution. The quality is not HD but it is still good and easily watchable.

Cards thats are fine for this purpose

Radeon 5450

Radeon 6450

Radeon 6570

Gt 210

Gt 520(gt 510 is a 210 rebadge, i might be wrong but no one cares the gt 510 isnt sold anymore)

Gt 610

gt 620

gt 630(over kill for only blu rays)

Intel hd 4000

3000 can sometimes work but its a hit and miss problem. I have a good amount of experience as I have made my fair share of htpcs for people, the 3000 doesnt max its usage with blu rays but it must be some glitch. Im sure that hd4600 works fine but I havent tested it yet, most of AMD apus work fine as well. I havent tried 7540d yet.

My cousin cant get it to run on a  6410d laptop for those guys but I dont recommend laptops as it doesnt give me money. Money is the aim of the game.

I used to own a 6770 which had around the same power at the 640 but its still quite powerful and could max some games.

NOT ONE OF YOU HAS HELPED
He's having ISSUES WITH "1080p PLAYBACK ON NETFLIX"

NOT GAMING PERFORMANCE
So what do you guys say......GET BETTER GFX CARD.. Thats Not A Solution, thats not even discussing his ACTUAL PROBLEM....

POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO NETFLIX 1080p Playback Problems.

I stumbled upon a setting on the actual netflix website under Account Settings called "Manage video quality" and changed the selection from "Best quality" to "Better quality".

Ever since then i have not had a single lag in my video streaming. Selecting BEST Quality would bring some I-GPU's to their knees.

Even the IGP on a current Intel or AMD processor is plenty for watching movies.  As for discrete cards, if that really is all it needs to do a $25 8400GS would even be enough...
