He wants to buy a new pc soon and he would like the following to be included:

a nice looking case (pure black or red and black)

16gb of ram

It looks nice too aswell!

This looks good.

OP, you can go for a smaller (and cheaper) PSU, but now you have the ability to upgrade to SLI without changing PSU.

Why have a $150 CPU cooler for thsi sort of rig when a 212 will do just fine, maybe a few more degrees higher?

IMO: Drop the cooler and pick up the i7 if he's serious about this video editing you mention.

again, why a $105 cooler? i very much doubt he needs that much cooling, it's just unnecessary when something like the 212 is half the price

The D15 is quite, and does a very good job of cooling. It fits in the budget, and for a $2000 why not get the best cooler possible?

Because he could be getting a i7 instead although even so with your proposed build he could actually fit one in anyway.

I just think it's unnecessary to buy something just because you can, when there is something else that will do the job as as well.

It wouldn't do it just aswell. It'd do it.

People buy 212's because it simply "Does the job".

At a $2000 price point, I'd personally want something that does the job better than well.
