2014 Refresh

Hey guys!, i originally built this computer in 2011, Then upgraded it in 2012, Thought it was about time to upgrade it again! (Sep 2014)

 

Originally built it with:

• I7-2600k CPU
• Asus P8z68 Deluxe Mobo
• 16GB (4x4) Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz Ram
• Coolermaster HAF 932 Full tower Case
• Coolermaster Silent Pro M850 PSU
• EVGA GTX 570 Classified Video Card
• Seagate 2TB Green Drive
• Samsung Syncmaster 24" Monitor

 

In October of 2012 i was having some issues with some parts (Dropped PC while moving)  And upgraded:

• Intel Core i7-3770K CPU
• Intel 330 Series 120GB SSD
• Asus P8Z77-V Motherboard
• EVGA GTX 680+ 4GB Video Card

 

Then in Sept 2014 My CPU Died on me, Brought it back to memory express (I actually bought In-Store Product Replacement, for once) They replaced it with:

• Intel I7-4790K CPU
• Asus Z97 Pro (Wifi,a/c) Motherboard

 

I also Purchased:

• NZXT H440(White)
• Noctua CPU Cooler (Not listed on their site anymore, so cant get model #)

 

Just recently my Samsung monitor died, so i replaced it with:

• Asus MX27H Monitor

 

 

With the old parts i thought about building a HTPC, So i bought a Hard drive, Ram, Power supply and re used my old GTX 570, But i am running into issues still, so its time to retire those parts completely, and buy new for that build

Thanks!, plan on getting a new video card eventually for this computer, but it seems to be holding up fine for me so in no rush for that,

 

And when i get to building my HTPC, ill take more/better photo's and create a new build log for that

I have purchased a couple more 1TB drives, and have them in my old case for my HTPC build, would like to consolidate all my media to that, and run a Kodi/Plex setup there, and a bunch of other stuff to run 24/7, Rather than leaving my Main computer on 24/7.

Yeah, i wish i would have been a bit smarter about it, Would of saved up a bit more and bought some 4TB's instead, but oh well, Future plans i guess.

Things happen, I still need to figure out myself if I should go for a Nas build or buy more storage but I'll see

Once i purchase my house (Currently in an apartment), is when ill set up a NAS, Right now everything in my place has to be wireless, which sucks.

Haha at least your computer is still running, Mine is needing a new CPU & Mobo, Hopefully can get them in a month

. going to get the I5 4590 and Asus H97M-Plus Mobo, And thinking of the Fractal Design Node 804 case for it
