What do you think of my GPU?

babadoctor

I have this GPU (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/sapphire-video-card-112170420g) i bought for gaming and people have been telling me that for the price i bought it at (175$) it was a ripoff and i could have gotten a much better GPU. Was i really ripped off? Please explain to me what i could have gotten for a better price.

that's a pretty normal price for a 270x. although it's pretty easy to find a 280 for that price.

That's what I bought my R9 270 Non-X at. So I don't think you got ripped off. Although sometimes there's quick sales / deals for an R9 280 for the same price. Also, your GPU is 4GB, I bought my 2GB R9 270 for $170. So you didn't get a bad deal.

Intel Core i7-5820K (4.4 GHz) | Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB  | 2x 360mm Custom Loop (Noctua iPPC) | ASRock X99 Extreme6 | Samsung 840 EVO 250GB | Fractal Design Define S | Corsair HX750 | Windows 10 | Corsair M65 RGB PRO | Corsair K70 RGB LUX (CherryMX Brown) | Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro & Creative Sound Blaster Z | Nexus 6P (32GB Aluminium) | Check out my setup: Project Kalte Here!

No. Your GPU is fine for what you are using it for (CS:GO and Minecraft).

New everything.

It was good for the price. Who told you it was not a good deal?

Not a terrible price considering the 4GB part, but R9 280s can be had for around 170. I think you did not get ripped off at all.

I am addicted to building gaming PCs but I don't have a great reason to stop...yet...

If you plan on running two of the 4GB R9 270X in crossfire down the road i guess it's an okay choice...otherwise a R9 280 3GB card cost almost the same and is a better card.
