So LG is having a sale on this 4K tv for $499 for today only, looks like it is pretty decent, but has choppy reviews. Seems like a better option than the Seiki. Would this be an okay choice for a PC monitor?

Yeah, you have a 970 so you should be able to use it at 4k 60Hz because I'm pretty sure it has HDMI 2.0

4k makes a lot of sense for using tvs as PC monitors

That's not a 40" monitor.

oh, didn't notice, lol, I still cant stand gaming on tv's though, or monitors bigger than 30"

Its actually awesome, very immersive. It just takes a few weeks to stop getting motion sick :P

normally tvs dont make good monitors, but at 4k i dont think it makes a difference.

4k tvs aren't worth it as tvs though...

I am so tempted to get this. I am currently running a 40" 1366x768 monitor as a second display for my laptop and desktop so this would be a HUGE upgrade to that. And yes, it is a monitor and not a TV (heavy duty monitor used in casinos). I also have 2 970s, so I probably can "decently" game on it.
