Friend ran away

Help. I am serious and not trolling so please don't think I am. My friend has run away from their house (I'm a child) and I don't know what to do. I am not sure their parents know they left as her family is not the best. She is ~14 and so am I. I do not have a phone to call but I do have a Google hangout thing so if I am able to a may be able to use that. How to I report to the police and what should I do in general. I am unable to go to the police station to report it and as the parents may have already reported it, I don't want to waste time and bother my working parents. The LTT community is great and I am not saying you would, but please don't bullshit me. You can reply to this topic or message me.

I think your parents would want to know that your friend ran away. The more people that know, the more that can be done.

She is in an awful family situation. Her mom is a stripper who bums off her grandma, which she lives with. Her dad left when she was young. etc etc

I learned directly from her over the internet ~10 min ago, in which she said she already left.

Call the police, they will come to you to investigate. If her parents have reported it, they will let you know.

due to your age and not knowing all the specifics, your parents are the ones that

need to report the incident. you are over-dramatizing the situation about your parents.

this is part of their responsibilities and when you got involved, it involved them.

To bad, Dad didn't believe. Really damn sad because knowing her family situation the probably won't notice she's missing for a while. Maybe until tomorrow morning.

How hard did you try to convince him? If you tell him enough and hard enough, he may believe you.

Is this just another "you don't understand me!"+leaving the house type of impulse run away ?

 

Unless she gets hit, receive little to no food or encouraged to do certain "things", that's generally the main reason for running away these days... I don't know her situation after all. And if she does have what I just mentioned happen to her, that's an issue the authorities can fix easily due to child endangerment. Which she should report herself, as nobody will believe some unrelated kid.

 

Are you sure she really did run away and isn't just seeking attention? I mean... if I ran away, I sure wouldn't tell anybody, especially not over the internet.

I showed him the message she posted about her running away. I told him every detail. Said " It's probably a threat" although I said many times it is not.

Trust me, she is no drama queen. She didn't tell any of her friends even in real life, which hurt me a lot. She only said she left a while after she did, which I am assuming because she didn't come to school. She does get verbally abused by her mom sometimes, which she hardly mentions unless I start the conversation of it.
