Being the guy that just bricks laptops is to me worst than being the guy who stands up for himself in court. But then again I am the kind of guy who yelled at her boss in public and came within an inch of quitting his job out of principle just yesterday. So I'll defer to your judgement here not everyone is an idealist.

I've only read the first page but I'm slightly confused - you said you're demisexual but get targeted for being homosexual? Or is it the case that you're both?

And secondly, as unfortunate and disagreeable as it is, by putting this information into the public domain you open yourself up to these attacks from narrow-minded members of society with anachronistic views. While such insults are reprehensible, you need to learn to brush them off. You shouldn't lock down their laptop in some tit-for-tat retaliation. It'll only damage your reputation as a service provider and it's immature.

Ok i dont know if this belongs in offtopic but its a story to tell so here we go...

 

I think if you're going to make disclosure of your sexuality part of the process of the service that you should let them know beforehand, it's just common courtesy as a professional (assuming it's a professional enough arrangement for them not to already know your sexual inclination).

 

I know by saying that I risk appearing prejudiced but to take Volbert's example...

 

 

 

I don't care if you serviced their computer wearing a giraf suit and refused to speak anything but Klingon, if it doesn't affect the service, it shouldn't affect the pay.

It might not even be about the sexuality (for all you know the guy could be in the closet and you might have caused him potential practical difficulties) it could just be a reaction to similar business practices involving different circumstances.

 

Insisting that the world should be one way (as much as a person might want it to be that way) doesn't make it so, and part of a professional service is to be considerate of the clients feelings.

 

Not trying to be contrary, just trying to offer a different perspective on a situation that might be confusing. :0/

thats about the equivalent of what happened here. and i WILL put my foot down. the customer is not always right. if the customer was always right. they could fix their own computers. but they're paying me. but they cant not pay me over something as simple as sexuality. its as simple as not paying to have your computer fixed because that person wore brown shoes out of season or something. its immoral and wrong :P

Your sexuality should not be the judge of how well or qualified you are to do repairs. Their reaction is rude and far past uncalled for. 

 

On the other hand, your booby trapping of their computer doesnt give them any better of a feeling about you.
