An overclocked g3258 will get you higher average frame rates, but typically lower minimums in games. Unless you a really locked down on budget, the i3 will give a better experience but the pentium isn't that far behind.

Core i3 will offer a much Better and smoother gaming experience. Get the core i3 4130 however as the 4330 doesn't offer a worthwhile performance increase in gaming.

Price to performance ratio goes to the i3. The Pentium is just a "for fun" cpu for cheap overclocking.

I would get an i3.

i3 all the way. Especially if gaming. If you're on a really tight budget and want a PC for basic tasks such as web browsing the G3258 is an option but there's even cheaper ones like the G1820. No reason to buy a G3258 anymore tbh.

The i3 plays every game but star citzen at very playble framerates the pentium doesnt.
