I wouldn't actually mind that if wireless data transfer is fast enough and peripherals have a long enough battery life. Would still be better than buying an 80$ hub that you're just going to lose anyway.

Yay! My shitty Chromebook has more ports! For fuck's sake, my laptop from 1999 has more... It has VGA, proprietary dock connector, serial, printer, USB 1.1, TV out, modem, two ExpressCard, a PS/2 combo, and dedicated audio and mic jacks. xD

It was. Top of the line with a PII 400MHz, ATI RAGE PRO LT 4MB AGP 2x graphics card, 64MB soldered-on RAM, and mine came with a 20GB HDD and Windows 98 (I got it without the HDD so I got a 40GB one off eBay and threw 98SE on it).

Kinda. Especially with the non-upgradeable Mac Mini's and no more server edition Mac Mini.
