which power supply should i get?

Okay so I build this computer online, and I was curious, will the cooler master vsm be a good PSU for this build?

Link to build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/G2wJ23

PSU I'm thinking about: Cooler Master VSM

If you have any other suggestions towards which PSU I should get, it would be greatly appreciated.

Get a G2. The NEX series are pretty shitty.

Only thing someone could say is bad about it:

Cables aren't sleeved. For a modder like me, that's awesome. Even still, they look sexy anyways, as they're all black.

300R. Corsair. Just bought one, its cheap, can mount a dual 120 rad in the top, has three 5.25 bays if you're into that. I love mine. Corsiar is a great company.

do you have any tips for building a computer?

Dont rub your feet on carpet, touch the case every once in a while, get a screwdriver or two, and don't cit yourself by accident. Be careful. The gold tip on the CPU lines up with a triangle on the socket. Cable manage first.

The RM are NOT good PSUs for the money.... idk why people continue to recommend them...

I heard the NEX650/750G aren't very good, @Aniallation pls confirm.

They're not great as a whole. They're good units in everything except the most major PSU factor which is 12V voltage regulation. Pretty much all of your PCs major VRMs for CPU and GPU convert 12V power to whatever the chip needs, so Vreg on the 12V rail is one of the biggest factors of PSU performance since worse performance in this area degrades your VRMs faster. It's just godawful for a PSU that many people rate so highly. Almost 4%...

Put it into this perspective: Best Buy sells their own Dynex power supplies. Think they're a load of garbage? Well, they get better 12V Vreg then the EVGA G1. Yeaaaa

They offer quite poor performance and lower lifespan compared to competing units.

If you want a wall of text to bring it into more detail, read into it here: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/303320-why-i-hate-on-the-corsair-rm/

Long story short: No Corsair PSU is good for the money.

I'll throw SeaSonic into the mix... I love mine.

Am I the only one around here who really doesn't like pcpartpicker?
I also like Ubisoft and Origin/EA
Guess I'm just odd that way.

I paid about 90$ for it. I think its pretty good. I Dont think that a small margin of increase on a different PSU really makes that much of a difference. I like corsair, their customer support is really good. I like, I reccomend. The PSU you mentioned may be "technically" better. Like technically reference design GPUs are worse than aftermarket ones.

They may perform slightly better, but a 980 is a 980.

Yeah, I don't recommend from a brand-loyalty standpoint, because that's not a good motto to follow. I recommend by the facts of what's a better made product.

$90 for an RM750 is still overpriced. This performs way better, and is even cheaper. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1750bbefx

What I'm saying, is that amongst these, it may as well be up to brand loyalty. As long as its not something shitty like a raidmax, then its pretty much just comparing GPUs.

An RM750 and an EVGA 750w made by super flower will pretty much operate the same, and will never have a difference the end user could notice (aside from major defects)

I reccomend the RM750 because it has nice features, works with corsair link if you're into that, and is sexy.
