Best free stress testing software

Go to solution Solved by HEU7Hwhu7,

XTU is best for Haswell. Prime on auto-voltage (not sure if it still does this) drives the voltage all the way up and overheats and could kill the CPU.

I just bought a new i7 4790k, and am wondering what is the best stress testing software that i can get for free. also any advice on overclocking it would be greatly appreciated. the cooler is an cooler master hyper 212 evo. i was also wondering what temps i can expect from this cpu.

Thanks

Run Prime 95 and Civ V (assuming you have it)

Prime 95 alone appears to max it but if you run Civ too it'll really cook it! the load appears to increase even more with Civ due to the heat.

For the Best builds and Price lists here is a world where many points of the price have been predefined already for your convenience!

The Xeon E3 1231 V3 IS BETTER Than the Core i5 4690K and a Significantly better value for the non-overclockers or value shoppers.
