So Linus reviewed this moniter

.And I am curious so on pcpartpicker ( Dell UP2715K<link)it has a 8 ms response time so I was wondering if that is still good enough to game on with. And also what kind or how many GPU's what I would need to power this beast of 5K.And then does it support G-Sync or Freesync or whatever.

THNX in advance.

Hi friend.Who are you?

It'd be fine to game on but you'd want at least two 980's or 290X 8GB cards to run on Med settings. 3 - 4 for the best perf.

My arsenal: i7-9700k Gaming Rig, an iPhone, and Stupidity.

It has close to double the amount of pixels as 4k, which means you'll probably want four 980's/290(x)'s to play AAA titles at decent framerates, maybe even four 290x 8GB's/four Titan X's. I doubt it'll support G/Free-sync since it's a professional monitor, but I don't know for sure.

RIP in pepperonis m8s

I would suggest for next gen GPU. On the latest roadmap (the one with Pascal that appeared in between Maxwell and Volta), will have stack memory.

It is a new memory process which would allow a lot more memory to be put on a single chip, allowing to add a lot of memory for little price increase.

This could mean we could have 8GB or more memory at the same price, more or less.

Pascal performance boost, based on my personal analysis, won't be a big increase over the 900 series. Nvidia tend to do a new architecture design, and then release a refresh where the chip has been tweaked, fixed bugs, maybe improve power efficiency a bit further, and overclocked.

Volta should be a new architecture.
