So  my 9590 is arriving tuesday, and I plan on using my hyper 212 evo, but based from what ive been reading that wont be enfough , whats the best aio on the market right now, and should i go 360mm rad or 240 rad or 280? my case is the nzxt switch 810 so i can mount most aios.

Thank goodness you came to us before you used a 212 evo on a 9590.

I would get a NZXT Kraken X61, Corsair H100i GTX or liquid nitrogen.

yeah liquid nitrogen is not realistic for me, and which gives better temps, the kraken or the gtx and why should i not use the 212 evo, would it be fine if i use it in the mean time till the aio arrives?

(Edited post a bit btw)

Do not use a 212, the 9590 comes with a AIO for stock operation, the X61 is a 280mm rad and the H100i GTX is a 240mm rad, the H1GTX is newer but I don't think that it would perform better.

The Kraken X61 is a good choice, but there are also tons of other 280mm AIO's out there, like the H110i GTX (Which has leaking problems and was recalled, it leaked in sub zero temps *Cough Cough* Canada)

I'm in america not Canada, my 9590 dosent come with an Aio, , so i think i may get the krakken, if i order from newegg, with rush and next day, think it will arrive by tuesday?

All 9590 should come with a All in one. Because its needed to run......also not to be nagging but horrible choice in CPU...........Heck return the thing....that CPU will and might set your entire house on fire, because how hot it runs..........if anything stick the AMD CPU you had before hand

What people are saying about the chip does have some truth to it but seeing as the OP didn't ask for their opinions on the chip itself people should not have volunteered their opinions.

@OP Basically any 240mm AIO will do fine for cooling the chip, I would avoid the H100i as the bracket is flimsy and can lead to bad mounts, something from Cooler Master would work well and not break the bank. If you want to get a really good unit get the Swiftech H220x, it's the best 240mm AIO on the market but it is more expensive.

Not sure how you ended up with a 9590, but I'd wait till the aio arrives before you start building.

tbh your build is perfectly fine. For the same price as the 9590 in america the MOST you can get is a 1231v3 and even that costs more, for multitasking. (note i say multitasking because that's a majority of what I at least do) The 9590 will still game in 1080p at any fps you want it to, and stream, and record, and upload gameplay to youtube all at the same time w/o skipping a beat.

Get yourself a kraken x61, it's a superb cooler, and will keep that chip under reigns.

The 9590 is better suited for me, because i dont plan on ocing past  this.

I guess....the performance doesn't change a whole lot compared to 9590 and 8320 its still the same architecture..which means the cores are still pretty crummy even if you do go with the 9590

You shouldn't have much issues with the Kraken x61 or the h110i even. It doesn't output quite as much heat as some would argue, but its still a little brick oven when it gets to work. Anyway, good luck with the build!

god dangit... the forums are a mess tonight.

Sorry @OP, we're all one big horribly biased and fanboy-centric family over here xD

Hey there OP.

You can not run an air cooler as it will burn out guaranteed, it has been tested.. Same thing only a couple of motherboards will not fry under the 220W.

Kraken and H110i are neck to neck but Kraken does cool a bit more, and with that beast you should take every inch of cooling you can get.

Intel 4790 K - R9 295X2 - Gigabyte Z97-SLI - Corsair Vengeance Pro Black 1866 CAL9 - Corsair HX 1000 -Samsung 850 EVO SSD - Samsung HDD - H100I - Corsair C70 - G400 Logitech - Asus VS247H - WASD custom mechanical and QCKPAD!

Staples of LTT: Getting an 4690 K will resurrect your lost family members, AMD = More heat thus AMD = Satan.

inb4 the "Wall of meaningless Intel biased fake tests" comments, that gets said so much...

But like any business,....companies/reviewers don't waste money and resources paying real human beings to fake these tests.

Proof is in the pudding.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Pretty much any 240mm AIO will do.  What I would recommend is buying a refurbished one for some cost savings if you can.

I'd get a Kraken x61 or a Corsair h100i.  The kraken is more expensive but should keep it a few degrees cooler.  imo get the H100i and throw some Noctua fans on it.

Alternatively, the Noctua NH-D14 is an air cooler sufficient enough to keep a 9590 running very cool.  It's the cheapest option, but requires a fairly large case.

Explain how the 9590 burns out a billion motherboards while an FX 8320/50/70 etc will overclock to the same clockspeeds on a fairly wide range of motherboards.

Not that I'd recommend running a 9590 on an unsupported motherboard, but there's really no reason you couldn't run it on any board that can push any FX 8 core to 1.5V and 4.7 GHz.

just anm update for those stating it would run super hot and burn my house down ect, in  firestrike extreme it ran max at 50C.

It still puts out a lot of heat. If a 290x runs at 70c and a 970 runs at 75c, the 290x is going to put out more heat 10 times out of 10 because it has a 300w tdp compared to 145w tdp.

Anyways I'm glad you got it working.

RIP in pepperonis m8s

if only i can figure out why my ram all of a sudden stopped running at the speed i have it set to in the bios that would be everything fixed
