Because lenovo have a lot of commercial clients who need their front counters to look good and factories etc to meet weird ass OHS requirements on trip hazards etc.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.1 Corinthians 13:4

Because:

1- We have them where I used to work at IT, and the cover all broke

2- Pain in the ass to remove

 3- big and bulky

4- Requires screws to mount on the screen

5- Limited number of cables you can pass (2 max + USB).

6- If you need more wiring to turn the monitor from landscape to portrait mode or height adjust, then you'll have either too much cable floating around or pulling on the wires

At work, all these stands are broken in some fashion. We even have ones where it doesn't hold the monitor for height adjustable so they are stuck at the lowest setting.

The best design is with Dell Ultrasharp series monitor stand. Clip system to install the stand. No screws, and holds super well, with it's mechanical system and easy to press button to remove it. Has a hole to pass cable which is invisible once the monitor setup, and you see no cables on any height or position. In addition, you have no wires being too short problem or too long. Oh and the whole stand is heavy, yet fairly compact the one from Lenovo, and uses metal mechanical system for every aspect of it.

And as a bonus, Dell monitors are actually really good, while Lenovo will turn the most high IPS monitor, and make it look like a 80$ 1st gen TN LCD pane, with back light bleeding everywhere.

When low-end Acer does a better job, ouch! And Dell monitors aren't overpriced, not to mention warranty coverage being superior.

So with Dell, not only you get the best stand, but a better monitor as bonus. :)
