Good to AMD do their best and increase power effiency and raw power in the same 28nm, i hope this also apply to their upcoming r9 390x to force nvdia to drop the price on GTX Titan X or force them to release a gimped gtx titan x aka GTX 980 Ti.

The 980 is a full GM204 core.

The Titan X is a GM200 core.

So they cant call it a 980ti

Nvidia is to Dr Dre Beets as AMD is to KFC.

One makes you broke, the other you can get more of and have a midnight snack from the fridge when hungry again. Once you go Nvidia, you go broked, turn into an Elitist, or get the incorrect amount of VRAM.

I also agree on this the last thing we need is another titan z (3000 usd retail), titan x is rumored to be 1350 usd, 350 usd more over titan/black.

amd gpus are due for a serious refresh thats for sure

The Titan X is a GM200 core.

So they cant call it a 980ti

Still a gimped Titan X/gm 200 make since if nvidia want to have sell and not lose to the r9 390x. by cutting ram in half and having few sms by 15-20% at 650-700 usd makes sense.

They would probably wait untill their next gen cards if they do it like last time. 680 was GK104, then in between 600 and 700 series they released the first Titan. As this is GM 200 they would probably make the next mainstream line up of cards with GM200, not this one. Of course if by some chance the 390x crushes the 980 by a giant margin then they would have to do something to stay competitive.

If it's true about Zen AMD might actually be coming back. I'd love to see some benchmarks. Might consider building a FM3 gaming PC as well

let hope amd can pull something close the hd 2900 pro/xt which retailed at 300 usd and nvidia had the gt/gts 8800 at 300 usd
