yes it meant for 1080P High gaming

you can check the benchmarks for the 270X

pick Sapphire or PowerColor GPUs

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

It's a decent card, but can't quite get to 60fps on modern games.

It's also just a slightly overclocked 270, so that's probably better value

EDIT: Oh, Medium settings? Should be able to do that at 60fps :)

Yeah, a friend of mine has it and it does well. It can run most games fairly well (apart from some games EG: FarCry 4, DayZ MOD, Arma 3) like someone could run Arma 3 with a 270x

Be sure to pick a sapphire card when you buy from AMD since they're the closest partner they have

@dragoon20005 not really a powercolor I bought for my brother broke its fan in just 4 months.

I once had the Asus 270X Top 2GB and it lets me play game on my 1600x1200 like a boss

I recommend getting the R9 280, over the 270X.

Shot through the heart and you're to blame, 30fps and i'll pirate your game - Bon Jovi

Take me down to the console city where the games are blurry and the frames are thirty - Guns N' Roses

Arguing with religious people is like explaining to your mother that online games can't be paused...

@CalumGiff

Everyone will recommend a better product. That's the way of the world...

If your set on the 270x or if budget only allows that, then you'll be quite good performance wise...

If you like Ultra Maxed out settings, expect 30-35+ FPS maybe even higher in some games but no where near 60fps, but almost guaranteed always above 31fps if not pushing your luck on 8xAA

If you like High settings, expect comfortable ranges of 30-50fps somewhere...

If you mix and match Ultra with Medium, a sweet spot of around 45-55fps can be had in a lot of titles.

This is of course without performance hogging things like MSAA, and usually sticking to SMAA/FXAA in titles as well.

Overclocking can make a nice improvement, letting you use 2xMSAA or higher fidelity in game...

It's up to you, its a capable card, It's not an Ultra spec product,....of course if you can hunt around and find a bargain somewhere at your budget level... go for a better option obviously.

/Keep in mind, this is @ 100% efficiency in a fully capable system, mileage may vary with CPU bottlenecks and other issues that may cause performance drops in other machines.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

As i already said in my original post i am getting the 280x msi variant, this was just a query into what you guys though of the 270x but that is not the card i am getting, my budget allows for a 280x :)

Ahh sorry I may have read around it... Oh well my thoughts would still be the above, 270x is capable as.. 280x does it better.

280x is a beast, should have a bit of headroom on the core too... 1150-1175Mhz would be a nice target, 1200Mhz may require too much voltage and get too warm for your liking...

If not overclocking, I doubt it'll exceed 75*c at all, probably keeping around 60-68*c

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Yeah the price difference between those in scotland is around 50 quidish sometimes 30 depending, so msi wins just cause its cheaper

The R9 270x is a nice card, but not a very good buy now you that can get a superior R9 280 for the same price. The R9 280 is definitely the best bang for your buck card right now, at least at the midrange level (as it has been for months now).

power color doesn't have a very good reputation

Asus which is supposed to have a good rep went downhill when their 290/x have overheating troubles with the vram and vrm.

A 270x is more than enough for Bohemia games, the CPU will be the bottleneck.
